Product Details
Prothioconazole is a new broad-spectrum triazolethione fungicide primarily used to control numerous diseases in cereals, wheat, and legumes. It exhibits low toxicity. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the demethylation of lanosterol or 2,4-methylenedihydrolanosterol, precursors of fungal sterols, at the 14-position. Spraying wheat fungicides between the greening and jointing stages can further control the damage caused by stem base rot. In combination with the prevention and control of other seedling diseases such as wheat sheath blight, spraying with single agents or combination formulations registered for wheat, such as prothioconazole, can not only prevent sheath blight and powdery mildew, but also stem base rot.

Product features:
1. Broad-spectrum and highly effective: It offers excellent control against a wide range of diseases caused by Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, and Deuteromycetes, with particular effectiveness against Fusarium (which causes fusarium head blight, wilt, and other diseases) and Alternaria.
2. Strong systemic activity: It exhibits excellent apical transport (i.e., it can be absorbed from the roots or leaves and transported to the upper parts of the plant and newly formed tissues), protecting newly formed tissues and exerting therapeutic effects.
3. Protective and therapeutic: It can both prevent pathogen invasion (protective effect) and kill already-invaded pathogens in the early stages of plant disease (therapeutic effect).
4. Long-lasting effect: Due to its stable chemical properties and systemic properties, it maintains its activity within the plant for a prolonged period, reducing the need for frequent application.
5. Increased yield and improved quality: By effectively controlling diseases, it significantly reduces contamination of crop seeds with pathogen toxins (such as DON), thereby increasing crop yield and quality.
Applicable Crop:
Downy Mildew:
Grape Downy Mildew: This is one of the most important applications for metalaxyl, which is particularly effective against grape downy mildew.
Downy mildew of cucurbits such as cucumbers, watermelons, and cantaloupes; downy mildew of vegetables such as cabbage, lettuce, and spinach; tobacco downy mildew; and onion downy mildew.
Blight:
Tomato/potato late blight: Another extremely important application.
Pepper/eggplant blight, cucumber blight, and taro blight.
Pythium:
Seedling damping-off disease of various crops (such as cucumbers, watermelons, and tomatoes): Metalaxyl is often used as a seed dressing or seedbed soil treatment to prevent seed rot and seedling death caused by Pythium, as well as Pythium wilt in lawns.
White Rust:
For example, white rust of cruciferous vegetables.
Stem Base Rot:
Stem base rot of some crops caused by Phytophthora or Pythium.
