Product Characteristics:
This product is a water-based plant growth regulator mixture of thidiazuron and ethephon, designed for defoliation and ripening. Applied during the late stages of cotton growth, it facilitates both mechanical harvesting and rapid, concentrated manual picking. Thidiazuron employs a unique defoliation mechanism by promoting the formation of an abscission layer at the base of the cotton leaf stalk, causing the leaves to drop. Because leaves shed before withering, contamination of the cotton lint by withered leaf debris is avoided, thereby improving cotton quality. Ethephon enters the plant through leaves, fruits, or seeds and is translocated to the site of action, where it releases ethylene to promote fruit ripening.

1. Xinjiang Region: Apply defoliation and ripening treatments when effective bolls are largely mature, the plant has entered natural senescence, vegetative growth has stalled, and there are fewer than five unopened bolls at the top of the plant (the optimal timing can be determined based on the maturity of the effective bolls). Regions outside Xinjiang: Apply treatments when the cotton boll opening rate reaches 40%–60%. Premature application may adversely affect cotton yield and fiber quality.
2. Spray the entire plant (stems and leaves) evenly, covering both the upper and lower leaf surfaces.
3. Efficacy is maximized when the daily minimum temperature remains above 12°C for 3–5 days following application. 4. Do not apply during windy weather or if rainfall is forecast within one hour. 5. Apply no more than once per season.
Precautions
① This product performs best under conditions of high temperature and high humidity; the optimal application temperature is 20–25°C. Efficacy decreases at low temperatures, whereas excessively high temperatures may cause the product to act too aggressively, potentially leading to phytotoxicity.
② The diluted solution has poor stability; prepare it immediately before use. ③ It decomposes upon contact with alkalis, resulting in reduced efficacy; therefore, it must not be mixed with alkaline pesticides or diluted with highly alkaline water.
④ Do not store in metal containers.
