When Should Peppers Be Transplanted and What Planting Density Is Best?
Transplanting Time
For protected cultivation, the transplanting time should be determined according to the temperature inside the greenhouse or other protected facility and the available insulation measures.
For open-field cultivation, transplanting should be scheduled according to the cropping system and local conditions. Since climate conditions vary between regions, the appropriate transplanting time should be adjusted accordingly.

Planting Density
Planting density should be determined according to the characteristics of the pepper variety.
For varieties with vigorous growth and a wide canopy, a relatively lower planting density can be used. For early-maturing varieties with a smaller leaf canopy, a relatively higher planting density may be appropriate.
In general, a row spacing of about 50 cm and a plant spacing of 40–50 cm can be used. This results in approximately 3,000–3,500 plants per mu. Where management conditions are good, the planting density can be increased appropriately.
