This is corn leaf spot disease, characterized by large yellowish-brown spots on the leaves, with lower leaves drying out first and the damage spreading upward. Field Management: Strengthen fertilization to prevent plant nutrient deficiency and premature aging; promptly remove diseased plant debris to improve field ventilation and light penetration, thereby reducing humidity. Chemical control: At the onset of disease, apply 70% methyl thiophanate wettable powder at 1,000 times dilution, 10% benoxyl-methyl carbamate water-dispersible granules at 30 ml per mu, or 25% pyraclostrobin suspension at 15 ml per mu, etc. For severely affected fields, apply two consecutive sprays at 7-day intervals, alternating between different pesticides, and avoid applying during high-temperature periods. If rain occurs within 6 hours after spraying, reapply. Additionally, before sowing, seeds can be treated with triazole fungicides such as tebuconazole or azoxystrobin, or resistant varieties can be selected; after harvest, thoroughly remove diseased plant debris and implement crop rotation (e.g., intercropping with legumes) to reduce pathogen accumulation.
