Product Details
Bacillus thuringiensis is a bacterium belonging to the family Bacillusceae and the genus Bacillus. It is a type of aerobic or facultative anaerobic Gram-positive bacterium that produces parasporal crystals and spores, and is widely distributed in soil, water, air, and vegetation. It is a "bacterial insecticide" that kills specific pests through the toxic proteins produced by the bacteria. It can control lepidopteran pests on crops such as vegetables, cotton, and corn, including pests such as the corn borer, cabbage white butterfly, and diamondback moth.
Fomulation: 2×1010cfu/g
Product features:
1. Highly Safe: Safe for humans, livestock, birds, pets, aquatic organisms, and most non-target beneficial insects, with no residual toxicity.
2. Environmentally Friendly: Easily degraded by sunlight and microorganisms in the natural environment, without polluting soil or water sources.
3. Target-Specific: Usually effective only against specific types of pests, protecting the balance of the ecosystem.
4. Less Likely to Induce Resistance (but requires proper use): Compared to single-site chemical pesticides, pests develop resistance more slowly. Modern products often use mixtures of multiple toxin genes or rotate their use to manage the risk of resistance.
5. No Withdrawal Period: Particularly suitable for organic agriculture and green food production; can be used before harvest.
