Functional Characteristics
Ethychlozate is an indazole-type plant growth regulator with auxin-like activity. It is absorbed through plant stems and leaves and metabolized within the plant into 5-chloro-1H-indazole-3-carboxylic acid, which is the active form. At low concentrations, it exhibits auxin activity, promoting rooting and enhancing the root system's uptake of water and mineral nutrients. At certain concentrations, it induces the production of endogenous ethylene and promotes the formation of abscission layers. At high concentrations, it inhibits auxin transport, thereby controlling vegetative growth and promoting reproductive growth; this maximizes the translocation of photosynthetic products to the fruit, resulting in earlier ripening and increased sugar content.
