What Causes Yellowing and Leaf Drop During chili Pepper Growth?

Sep 08,2026

Yellowing and leaf drop during the pepper growing period may be caused by the combined occurrence of several diseases, including Phytophthora blight, bacterial leaf spot and defoliation, anthracnose, and streak virus disease.

These diseases can develop rapidly and spread quickly. In some cases, the diseases may spread throughout a field within 2–3 days, resulting in significant leaf loss.

Severe leaf drop caused by these diseases can have a serious impact on pepper yield and quality.

For leaf drop associated with these diseases, the PanPan Complete Disease Management Package can be sprayed consecutively as part of disease management to help control the problem.
