Decyl alcohol emulsion is a contact agent, which has fast bud removal and no residual toxicity, but sometimes kills some young leaves. It destroys the nuclear membrane of developing cells in tobacco axillary buds, killing the cells. However, it has no effect on mature cells, and is ineffective on axillary buds up to 3 cm. Therefore, it is generally used after topping, diluting the decanol emulsion 30 times, 30ml per plant, and spraying it along the stem to make the liquid contact with the axillary bud cells.
