Due to factors such as climate or cultivation, tobacco leaves mature late, and some are called "green tobacco" and "laohan tobacco". Ripening tobacco leaves can be treated with stem and leaves in the later stage of growth or post-harvest treatment of tobacco chips: ① stem and leaf treatment, generally using the method of whole-plant spraying. For early and middle tobacco, spray 500-700mg/L ethephon liquid on sunny days in summer. After 3-4 days, 2-4 sets of leaves (2 leaves per set) can turn from green to yellow and mature naturally after 3-4 days. Same. For late smoke, the concentration should be increased to 1000-2000 mg/L, and the light green leaves turn yellow after 5-6 days. It can also be prepared into a 15% ethephon solution and applied around the stem at the base of the leaf, or the stem epidermis can be peeled longitudinally about 1.5cm wide and 4cm long, and then smeared with ethephon stock solution, and the tobacco leaves above the spraying site for 3 to 5 days. Can fade and promote yellow. The effect of ethephon on tobacco lasts 8 to 12 days, and it can also be used twice on the lower and upper leaves during the tobacco growing season. Whether it is early, medium or late maturing varieties, the budding stage is the best. ②Post-harvest treatment: Immerse the freshly harvested tobacco leaves with 500-1000 mg/L ethephon solution, and then bake them. This method is most meaningful for the ripening of large green smoke that cannot normally fade.
