Other Advanced Applications of Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) in Citrus

Propyl dihydrojasmonate and gibberellic acid
Spraying citrus with a combination of 25 mg/L propyl dihydrojasmonate and 1–3.3 mg/L gibberellic acid 45 days before harvest can effectively prevent the occurrence of "puffy skin" (rind puffing).

2,4-D and gibberellic acid
Spraying citrus fruit with a solution containing 8–12 mg/L 2,4-D and 5–15 mg/L gibberellic acid before color change helps maintain fruit quality and freshness while on the tree.

Chitosan
After harvest, evenly spraying the fruit surface with a 2% chitosan solution and allowing it to air-dry prevents the appearance of significant blemishes during 7 days of storage at 30°C.

Prochloraz
After harvesting fruit at the "eight-tenths ripe" stage (mature but not fully colored), select undamaged fruit and dip them for 1–2 minutes in a solution of 250–500 mg/L prochloraz; a combination of 180–225 mg/L prochloraz and 4–5 mg/L chitosan; or a combination of 150–200 mg/L prochloraz and 25–33 mg/L imazalil. After dipping, allow the fruit to air-dry before storage; this treatment controls stem-end rot, anthracnose, and mold, thereby extending storage life.
