Application of Plant Growth Regulators to Extend the Vase Life and Preservation of Cut Daffodils

Gibberellic Acid (GA3)
Harvesting should take place when the daffodil stem begins to curve and the flower bud starts to swell. Vase life can be extended by first pretreating the stems in a solution containing 25–60 mg/L silver nitrate, 2%–7% sucrose, and 20 mg/L GA3, followed by placement in a vase solution containing 200 mg/L 8-hydroxyquinoline citrate and 2% sucrose.
