Peony Seed Germination & Rooting Boost
Promoting Seed Germination
Gibberellic Acid
Peony seeds exhibit epicotyl dormancy. Soaking seeds in a 150 mg/L gibberellic acid solution for 12–24 hours promotes germination, achieving a germination rate of over 99%.
Promoting Rooting
Gibberellic Acid
Treatment with gibberellic acid can advance the onset of rooting and accelerate the rooting process in *Paeonia rockii* (purple-spotted peony) seeds. Soaking seeds in a 100 mg/L gibberellic acid solution for 24 hours, followed by sand storage at a room temperature of 20–25°C, effectively promotes rooting.
Indole-3-butyric Acid (IBA)
The period from September to November is optimal for the stem cutting propagation of *Paeonia rockii*. Soaking cuttings in an 800–1000 mg/L indole-3-butyric acid solution for 3 minutes yields a relatively high survival rate.
