Application of Plant Growth Regulators for Preventing Pepper Flower and Fruit Drop
Gibberellic Acid (GA3)
Spray the flowers once during the blooming period with a 20–40 mg/L solution of gibberellic acid to promote fruit setting and increase yield.
Gibberellic Acid (GA3) + 6-BA
Apply a foliar spray treatment using a 13–20 mg/L solution (at a 1:1 ratio) one day before flowering, during peak flowering, and during the young fruit stage. This enhances the translocation of nutrients to the treated areas, effectively promoting flower and fruit retention as well as fruit enlargement.
Brassinolide
During the seedling, vigorous growth, initial flowering, or young fruit stages, apply a foliar spray of 0.03–0.06 mg/L brassinolide. This improves the crop's resistance to various stresses—including disease, drought, salinity, waterlogging, and cold—while also regulating plant growth.
2,4-D
Approximately 30–40 days after transplanting chili peppers, spraying with a 1 mg/L solution of 2,4-D can promote tillering, result in sturdier stems, and increase the yield per individual plant.
Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA)
During the flowering period, spraying the flowers with a 20–50 mg/L solution helps prevent flower drop and promotes fruit setting. This treatment has been shown to increase yield by 13.4% compared to control groups.
