Application of Plant Growth Regulators to Promote Rooting in Rosa chinensis Cuttings
Naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA)
Single-bud cutting is a method that conserves propagation material, making it particularly suitable for propagating new varieties where cutting material is limited. Treating *Rosa chinensis* cuttings with appropriate concentrations of indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and NAA helps improve survival rates. In commercial production, a quick dip (2–3 seconds) of the cuttings in a mixture containing 250 mg/L each of IBA and NAA significantly boosts survival rates and enhances production efficiency.
Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA)
Select vigorous, pest- and disease-free, semi-lignified shoots from the current season's growth. After collection, cut them into 5–10 cm lengths, each containing 2–3 nodes. Treatment with 50 mg/L IBA for 30 minutes yields the most significant rooting results, achieving a rooting rate of over 91%.
