Application of Plant Growth Regulators for Adjusting the Plant Shape of Rosa chinensis

Paclobutrazol, chlormequat chloride, and mepiquat chloride

When applied at appropriate concentrations and methods, they can shorten internode length, thereby reducing plant height. This results in a fuller plant shape, normal flowering, and improved ornamental value. Simultaneously, it can increase leaf chlorophyll content, improve photosynthetic efficiency, and increase the activity of superoxide dismutase and peroxidase, as well as soluble sugar content, significantly impacting the ornamental quality of potted roses. Foliar spraying with 700 mg/L paclobutrazol and root drenching with 300 mg/L paclobutrazol show the best regulatory effects. Spraying with 1200 mg/L chlormequat chloride and 300 mg/L mepiquat chloride are less effective; both achieve the goal of effectively reducing plant height and improving ornamental value.
