Privet Seed Germination & Emergence Boost
Application of Plant Growth Regulators to Promote *Ligustrum* Seed Germination
Gibberellic Acid
Low concentrations of gibberellic acid promote the germination of deciduous *Ligustrum* seeds; conversely, excessively high concentrations are toxic and inhibit germination. Gibberellic acid facilitates germination by overcoming dormancy, specifically by counteracting inhibitory substances present on the seed surface. A recommended treatment involves soaking seeds in a 200 mg/L gibberellic acid solution for 24 hours, rinsing them with clean water, and then soaking them in water at 25°C for 12 hours to induce germination.
