In semi-forced strawberry cultivation, spraying an 8–10 mg/L gibberellic acid solution during the early growth stage can accelerate the flowering of the first inflorescence. In forced greenhouse cultivation, the solution should be sprayed 1–2 times after the greenhouse has been covered for heat retention for three days (i.e., when over 30% of flower buds have emerged): the first application should occur when two leaves have not yet fully unfolded, and the second—if deemed necessary—during the budding stage. A concentration of 5–10 mg/L is appropriate, with the spray focused on the heart leaves; this promotes growth and leads to earlier flowering of the terminal inflorescence and earlier fruit ripening. (Note: The concentration varies by cultivar; lower concentrations are used for cultivars with shallow dormancy, while higher concentrations are used for those with deep dormancy. Cultivars that grow normally during the early growth stage do not require spraying.)
