The pure substance is a viscous, oily liquid with an aromatic odor. It has a boiling point of 125°C, a UV absorption wavelength of 234–235 nm, and is soluble in acetone.

Main Formulations: 5.25% propyl dihydrojasmonate liquid; 10% propyl dihydrojasmonate emulsifiable concentrate (EC)

To date, over 30 types have been identified, the most representative being jasmonic acid (JA), the volatile methyl jasmonate (MJ), and the synthetic derivative propyl dihydrojasmonate (PDJ). Jasmonates exhibit a broad spectrum of physiological effects, primarily including acting as endogenous signaling molecules in plant stress responses (mediating defense against pathogens, insects, and abiotic stresses) and regulating plant growth and development (inducing seed germination, flowering, fruit ripening, etc.); they possess functional applications similar to those of abscisic acid.
