Physicochemical Properties:
The pure product consists of white needle-like crystals with a melting point of 156–159°C. It is readily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone. It is unstable when stored at room temperature.

Functional Characteristics:
p-Bromophenoxyacetic acid is an auxin-type plant growth regulator. It promotes cell division and differentiation, regulates the translocation of nutrients to reproductive organs, promotes flowering and fruiting, and increases yield.
Agricultural Application Techniques for p-Bromophenoxyacetic Acid
Wheat: Spraying with a 30–40 mg/L solution during the flowering and grain-filling stages can reduce the rate of empty or shriveled grains and increase the 1,000-grain weight.
Rice: Spraying with a 20–30 mg/L solution during the heading, flowering, or grain-filling stages can improve the panicle formation rate and seed-setting rate, resulting in plump grains and increased yield.
Apple: Spraying with a 10–20 mg/L solution during full bloom can promote flower and fruit development and increase yield.
Sweet Orange: Spraying the entire plant with a 25–50 mg/L solution during full bloom can significantly improve fruit set and yield per tree, as well as increase the Vitamin C content of the fruit.
Precautions:
① Due to the poor water solubility of the technical grade product, it should first be dissolved in 95% ethanol before being diluted with water. Adding 0.1% neutral soap to the solution can improve spreading and adhesion, thereby enhancing efficacy.
② Application concentration must be strictly controlled; for apples, the concentration should not exceed 30 mg/L. ③ Applying the pesticide during dry weather may cause mild leaf curling, though the plants will subsequently return to normal. Schedule applications for the morning or evening on a sunny day, and avoid applying during rainfall or under intense sunlight.
