Silatrane C7H14NO3Si |plant growth regulator

Silatrane induces cell division in crop seeds. During germination, it increases the number of rooting points, enabling the plant to fully absorb soil moisture and nutrients during the early stages of development, thereby laying a material foundation for later growth. It enhances photosynthesis, ultimately supplying more nutrients to the plant's fruit.

Functional characteristics

Silatrane is a silatrane compound—an organosilicon compound characterized by a unique molecular structure and significant biological activity. The coordination bond within the molecule possesses an electron-inducing function; the energy released can induce cell division in crop seeds, enhancing mitosis in rooting cells and boosting protein biosynthesis. During seed germination, the number of rooting points increases, allowing the plant to fully absorb soil moisture and nutrients during its early developmental stages, thereby laying a material foundation for subsequent growth. Upon absorption, the molecules enter the plant leaves, where the electron-inducing function is gradually released. This energy catalyzes photosynthesis—enhancing photosynthetic activity and chlorophyll synthesis—and facilitates the continuous production of carbohydrates in the leaves. These carbohydrates serve as reserve nutrients for the crop's survival and are ultimately supplied to the plant's fruit.

Agricultural application of Silatrane

Winter wheat
Application method: Seed dressing or seed soaking. Treat seeds by mixing them with a 1000–2000 mg/L solution for 4 hours (seed-to-solution ratio of 10:1), or by soaking them in a 200 mg/kg solution for 3 hours (seed-to-solution ratio of 1:1). For example, mix 2 g of 50% Silatrane (Guifeng Huan) wet seed dressing with 0.5–1 L of water to treat 10 kg of seeds, or mix with 5 L of water to soak 5 kg of seeds for 3 hours; then sow. This treatment increases the number of wheat tillers, grains per spike, and thousand-grain weight, resulting in a significant yield increase.
Rice
Spray the seedbed with a 1000 mg/L solution, and apply the same concentration again at the 2- to 4-leaf stage before transplanting. This promotes seedling growth and tillering, enhances plant vigor, improves disease resistance, accelerates grain maturation, and increases thousand-grain weight, ultimately boosting yield and promoting early maturity.
Soybean
Spraying with an 80 mg/L Silatrane solution at the initial flowering stage significantly increases the number of pods and grains per plant across different varieties; it tends to reduce plant height while significantly increasing stem thickness, leading to a significant yield increase.

Precautions for using Silatrane

① Prepare the solution fresh in a clean container and mix thoroughly; minor floating matter or sediment may appear during preparation but does not affect efficacy.
② Carry out other field management practices (fertilization, weeding, pest control) as usual. Factors affecting seedling emergence—aside from seed treatment—include drought, overcast/rainy weather, waterlogging, soil compaction, sowing depth (too deep or too shallow), and low seed germination vigor.
