Jujube Blossom Retention & Fruit-Set Optimization

Application of plant growth regulators for preserving flowers and fruit and increasing fruit set rate

DCPTA
Spraying an 8–15 mg/L solution once each during the pre-flowering, young fruit, and fruit expansion stages can increase yield.
Gibberellic acid (GA3)
Apply the first spray during the peak flowering stage (when 40%–50% of flowers are open) and a second spray 5–7 days later. Spray the entire plant until wet but not dripping, using a concentration of 15–25 mg/L. It promotes cell division, cell elongation, or both; enhances crop growth and plant vigor; reduces flower and fruit drop; increases fruit set rate and fruit size; boosts yield; and allows for earlier harvesting.
brassinolide
Jujube trees were sprayed with 0.05 mg/L brassinolide during the flowering stage, with an interval of 7 days between the two sprays. The single fruit weight and fruit setting rate were significantly increased, increasing by 39% and 68%, respectively, compared with the control.
Thidiazuron (TDZ)
Spraying jujube trees with 0.17 mg/L thidiazuron twice during the flowering stage (with a 7-day interval) significantly increases single-fruit weight and fruit set rate—by over 27% and 65%, respectively, compared to the control.
Naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA)
Spraying a 5 mg/L solution during the peak flowering stage can increase fruit set rate and boost yield by approximately 15%. For the "Jinsi" (Golden Thread) small jujube variety, over 50% of the fruit often drops prematurely as it nears maturity; fruit knocked down by wind is of poor quality and yields a low percentage of dried product. Spraying a 40–50 mg/L NAA solution once over the entire plant as the fruit nears maturity can reduce wind-induced fruit drop by more than 95%.

4-Chlorophenoxyacetic acid
Spraying the whole jujube tree with 20 mg/L solution at the end of the flowering stage can increase the fruit setting rate by 25% to 30%; spraying with 20 to 40 mg/L can increase the fruit setting rate by 40% to 70%; when the spray concentration reaches 50 mg/L or above, the fruit setting rate can be increased by more than 70%.
Triacontanol
Spraying jujube trees twice with a 1 mg/L triacontanol solution during the early stage of full bloom can increase the fruit set rate by 27%–35%; a single application of a 0.5–1 mg/L solution during the physiological fruit drop stage can reduce fruit drop by 17%–28% and promote fruit enlargement.
