Application of Regulators for Regulating Lychee Flower and Fruit Development

Brassinolide
Spraying a 0.02–0.04 mg/L brassinolide solution once each during the flower bud, young fruit, and fruit expansion stages can significantly improve fruit set, promote fruit enlargement, and increase yield.
DCPTA
Spraying 8–15 mg/L of fresh ester once each at the onset of flowering, after fruit set, and during fruit expansion can improve fruit set, thicken the flesh, increase sweetness, reduce seed size, accelerate maturity, and boost yield.
Sodium Nitrophenolate
Foliar spraying with 6–9 mg/L sodium nitrophenolate once around the time of flower panicle emergence can improve fruit set and help retain flowers and fruit.
Naphthaleneacetic Acid (NAA/Sodium NAA)
Spraying a 15–40 mg/L NAA solution twice—once when panicles emerge and again after fruit set concludes—can reduce fruit drop and splitting, increase fruit size, and improve both yield and quality.
Forchlorfenuron (CPPU)
Treating small green or slightly reddish lychee fruits (25–30 mm in diameter) with 5–10 mg/L forchlorfenuron during the young fruit stage can delay harvest by 14–21 days. Additionally, treated fruit exhibit redder skin color at harvest and a higher ratio of total soluble solids to titratable acidity compared to the control. Treatment also reduces browning, slows fruit senescence and discoloration, and extends shelf life.
Gibberellic Acid (GA3)
Spraying with a 20 mg/L gibberellic acid solution 30 days after petal fall can reduce fruit drop, increase fruit set, and boost yield. Gibberellic Acid (GA4+7) and Brassinosteroids
Spraying the entire lychee tree with 2.5–5 mg/L GA4+7 (combined with 0.01–0.02 mg/L brassinosteroids)—focusing on the flowers and fruit—during the early flowering or young fruit stage helps strengthen blossoms and retain fruit.
